Habemus Tours will make you discover Naples, a city rich in history, art, culture and music. It is not a coincidence that the UNESCO has declared its historic centre as a “World Heritage Site”.
During this tour you will have the opportunity to visit Pompeii, the picturesque archaeological site famous throughout the world. You will learn more about the daily life in Pompeii before the city was buried under a layer of “lapilli” after Vesuvius eruption in 79 BC. While walking down the streets you will discover ancient handicraft shops, thermal baths (Romans’ favourite pastime!), the “Lupanare” (the English for brothel), political and administrative buildings, as well as the Forum, which was the commercial hub of the city.
You will have the opportunity to visit the three temples, dedicated respectively to Apollo, Venus and Jupiter; you will see the famous House of the Faun, one of the largest and most impressive private residences in Pompeii; or even the House of Sallustio, which is a Roman villa built in tuff and considered one of the oldest in the city.
You will be excited to sit inside the two theatres and realize that you can still appreciate their exceptional architectural and acoustic characteristics, especially in the “Teatro Grande” (The Grand Theatre).
And at last but not least, you will visit the amphitheatre, where in 1972 Pink Floyd recorded their concert documentary film, “Live at Pompeii“.
